This is a day retreat for movement, mindfulness, and meditation. We will approach pain as a way to grow and heal. The invitation is to get closer to our pain with a compassionate, kind awareness.
When pain is not acknowledged, it can take command of our lives. When we begin to heal, we live our life to the fullest.
The day will consist of several ways to explore, approach, hold space. Modalities include yoga, walking meditation, silent sit and mindful movement, journaling, letter writing, singing bowls, and other rituals.
Please wear comfortable clothes in layers.
Yoga mats, props, blankets, and bolsters are provided. Please bring a full water bottle.
A nutritious lunch is included.
About Domi
Dominique, a recent transplant to the coast, teaches mindfulness, meditation, and yoga at Swell. With an interest in holistic healing and curious about human behavior, Dominique began meditating as a young adult. Her work as a certified Life Coach includes insight meditation, which in turn led her to her current study under Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, through whom she is completing her certificate as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher. Dominque is another gifted Swell instructor certified in reiki.
Originally from Chile, Dominique speaks both Spanish and English. She is a professional actress with experience on stage and in film and enjoys finding the connection between insight work and the arts. She is honored in her work as a life coach to accompany people in the person process of transformation.
Dominique loves to travel and learn from what other cultures have to teach. She likes being outside, hugging trees, and having fun with family and friends. Her love for the ocean and water makes El Granada a great place to call home.
