FAQ’s
Welcome to Swell! We’re so happy to have you as part of our yoga community. Whether you’re just starting out or continuing your practice, we want you to feel supported every step of the way. Here you’ll find answers to some common questions. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please reach out for support.

Getting Started
Do I need to sign up + pay in advance?
Yes! Please take a moment to sign up & pay in advance using our website.
While we don’t want technical issues to interfere with your ability to practice yoga, walk-ins aren’t guaranteed. Our teachers are not able to assist you with registration and payment before class. We honor capacity limits and you’ll be turned away if the class is full, advanced registration guarantees your spot.
How do I access/create my Walla account?
To create a new account:
- go to our studio schedule
- choose a class to book or package to purchase
- Follow the instructions to create a new account
To access an existing account:
- go to our studio schedule
- select log in to access your account details
- choose the forgot your password link
- enter the email address associated with your account
- you will receive an email with the reset password instructions
We recommend downloading the Walla app for a simple user experience:
What should I bring & wear?
Bring whatever helps you feel comfortable on your mat! A yoga mat is best (we have a limited number of loaners), and water is always a good idea.
Comfortable clothing that lets you move freely is perfect.
- in classes with like Hatha and Vinyasa, fitted attire is best as loose clothes might get in your way
- in Heated and Hot classes, you’ll be comfortable in clothes that wick moisture and dry quickly
- in classes with slow, subtle movements like Yin and Restorative, feel free to wear your coziest, comfiest clothes (yes, even pajamas!)
Do you have loaner mats and props?
Yes! We have a limited number of loaner mats, so we strongly encourage you to bring your own to guarantee a spot. We have a full supply of blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps to support your practice.
Our loaner mats were generously donated by the HMBHS Boys Basketball Program!
Attendance & Policies
How do I cancel an upcoming class?
Cancellations must be made via Walla. We are not able to process cancellation requests sent via email or text.
Cancelling via the Walla App:
- go to “bookings” and select your class from “upcoming bookings”
- choose “cancel” and confirm the cancellation
Cancelling via our website:
- log into the website widget and select the menu (top right)
- choose “manage account” then select “your schedule”
- choose “cancel” and confirm the cancellation
What if I’m running late?
We know life happens, but arriving late, even quietly, can disrupt the calm and focus of the class for both your teacher and fellow students. To help everyone enjoy the full experience, we ask that late arrivals be the exception, not the norm.
If you arrive after class begins, you’ll be marked “late” and receive a follow-up email from our support team. A second late arrival will result in a $15 late fee, charged to the card we have on file. If there are two late charges for the same class, we’ll kindly ask you to choose a different class time that better fits your schedule. All late fees go to support our donation-based community classes.
Please do not text or call teachers’ personal numbers to tell them you are late. We appreciate your intentions, but this is distracting for the teacher and impacts their ability to be present for the start of class.
What is your cancellation and refund policy for regular weekly classes?
Students may cancel anytime before class begins. If you cancel less than 4 hours before the start you will be charged a $15 late-cancel fee. While this $15 charge is standard no matter how you have paid, limited autopay, class packs, and drop-ins do not lose their credit.
For drop-ins, refunds for a cancelled class before the 4-hour window will be returned as account credit. All other packages and autopay will have the credit returned to their package.
Requests for exceptions: our software system enforces our policies automatically 24 hours after class start time. Exception considerations must be sent to support@swellyogastudio.com within 24 hours or we will not be able to refund the charge.
Please note, offerings outside our weekly schedule have separate cancellation policies:
- Quarterly 108: cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance.
- Workshops, Mini Retreats, Special Events: cancellations more than one week in advance will be transferred to studio credit. Cancellations made less than one week in advance are not available for credit but can be transferred to another student.
- Trainings & Retreats have their own unique cancellation policies made available to participants upon booking.
Do you have a waitlist for full classes?
Yes! If a class is full, up to ten students may join the waitlist. If a spot opens, you’ll be automatically added to the class and notified by email or text
By joining the waitlist, you’re committing to the class. You’re expected to manage your spot just as you would if you were fully enrolled. All studio policies (including late cancel & no-show fees) still apply.
The waitlist remains open until 30 minutes before class starts, and you can be added to the class from the waitlist up to that time. After that, the list closes and no further changes are made. We do not accept waitlist walk-in’s.
