Overview
Swell Yoga is delighted to be partnering with myofascial release expert, Wendy Figone, for a workshop series focused on recovery.
Whether you’re a longtime athlete or just beginning your wellness journey, myofascial release is a self-care practice that will change your experience and understanding of your physical body. By softening and reclaiming balance in your being, you’ll discover the power of true restoration.
Fascia is an intelligent web of connective tissue weaving through the human body from head to toe. Throughout our lives, this system is impacted by the way we move, how we feel, and what we hold. Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle practice that releases blocks and restrictions in the fascial system to treat root causes of pain, enhance recovery, and improve overall wellbeing.
This workshop series offers four structured classes that explore MFR principles and techniques designed for yogis and other athletes. Students will learn how to improve their yoga practice and physical routines by enhancing mobility, power, and overall alignment. During your time with Wendy, you will learn how to approach your physical body as one, connective experience. You will:
- Learn how fascia impacts your mobility, health, and stress
- Experience embodied cognition by recognizing how physical hold patterns reflect mental or emotional states
- Develop interoceptive awareness to amplify the connection between bodily sensations and emotional experiences
- Understand the relationship between hydration and fascial elasticity
- Explore the relationship between mobility and power in yoga
- Dive deep into the connection between fascia and foot health for improved posture and balance
- Learn tools to incorporate MFR into a regular practice at home to support your health long-term

Wendy Figone
Wendy has dedicated her life to guiding individuals on their journey of self-care and healing through bodywork. Her expertise is rooted in deep, hands-on work with fascia to help clients release chronic tension and stress. She approaches pain from a holistic perspective, by recognizing our stress, and taking mindful steps to care for our bodies, we can improve our quality of life.
Wendy has received an expert level certification John Barnes, renowned myofascial release therapist. Her holistic approach is guided by her experience as a Yoga Therapist, a Forest Therapy Guide, and Compassion Ambassador (ACT).
