Join Becky as she leads you through six weeks of Swell’s Buti Summer Series! This series is designed to introduce students to the playful and dynamic practice of Buti – a high-intensity fusion of yoga, tribal dance, strength, and conditioning through a signature spiral movement.

The word buti is a Marathi Indian term describing “the cure to something that has been hidden away.” The movement of a Buti class is designed to empower students as they develop body confidence and explore their limitless strength within. Through dynamic external movement and internal self-reflection, Buti gives students space to be playful, creative, and liberated in both body and mind.

Whether you’re a Buti regular or completely new, there is space for students of all levels, identities, and backgrounds. Becky will guide you through variations that help you find and respect your own edge in each class. This series encourages self-inquiry and observation – moving with feeling to make the practice your own as you invite in moments of rest or flair when you want them most.

Shake it Up

Move energy, release endorphins, stress, and stored tension (both physical + emotional) while stimulating cellular reorganization.

Intro to Spiral Structure Technique (SST)

With a beginners mind, you will explore a new way to move – through spiraling and isolation you activate your deep core muscles and fine tune the base of all Buti movement.

Dynamic Asana

First we land, then we move. Engage and strengthen your stabilizer muscles as you become familiar with dynamic movement and pulsing in traditional asana shapes.

Chakra Awakening Sequence

Open and align your energy centers by cultivating new awareness of the body-mind connection. Through breath and movement we will explore ways to activate and support each chakra encouraging flexibility, strength, mental focus, release tension, and relax the nervous system.

Cardio Dance & Plyometrics

The more you move, the less you think, and the deeper you connect with yourself. Liberate your body and mind through cardio-intensive dance and powerful bursts of plyometrics to pump up your heart rate.

Recap + Buti Dance Party

Round up the sessions in style! You will celebrate, dance, connect, and have the opportunity for any final Q&A.
